Financial Analyst Senior at Westgate Resorts in Ocoee, FL
Job Description The Westgate Mortgage Reporting and Analytics team is seeking a seasoned Senior Financial Analyst with five years of experience in their analytical career. This is highly technical role and will be responsible for reporting and ad hoc analysis, strategic projects, and summarizing/communicating results. A significant portion of the incumbent's time will be analyzing and working with relational data. They will need to have a strong balance between understanding the business, request, and desired outcome, along with analyzing and managing large amounts of data. Experience reading/writing SQL code is a must. A significant portion of the role is highly unstructured - meaning the incumbent will need to learn new concepts quickly, apply critical thinking, problem solving, and technical skills, for solving mostly new problems. In addition, this individual will become a key subject matter expert on the mortgage portfolio and other critical analysis. In addition, the team is seeking a candidate with a focus on Investor Reporting. 60% of this role will be reporting, ad hoc analysis, and strategic support for our securitization and warehouse lines. 40% of the role will include ad hoc analysis and projects supporting the mortgage portfolio. This individual will become a key subject matter expert on the various term deals and lender lines along with a deep understanding of how to operate these facilities.
Responsibilities:
Update and analyze critical month end reports that center on mortgage portfolio performance; develop storylines that help the business stay apprised on the overall health and performance of the Mortgage portfolio; key areas include changes in portfolio size, composition, delinquency, defaults, etc. Create and drive key ad hoc analytical initiatives; summarize findings/results in email or presentation format (where applicable) Dive into new areas of the business and the data that supports it. Develop an understanding of the business or process, create rulesets and datasets; develop dashboards that provide visibility in these areas. Become the team's modeling and forecasting expert; develop new models that forecast activity, drawing from deep experience in modeling techniques and development Actively participate in the expansion of the mortgage analytics team to support other business units and initiatives that help elevate the team Develop ongoing relationships with internal business partners across the organization Qualifications Self-starter with superior analytical, critical thinking, communication, organization and decision-making capabilities Expert level technical, financial modeling, and reporting skills using Excel; deep experience leveraging a variety of analytical techniques for solving problems and drawing conclusions Very strong data development and refinement skills using SQL; must be proficient at reading and writing native SQL Ability to communicate effectively and create compelling presentations using PowerPoint Excellent attention to detail, strong problem solving skills, ability to deal with ambiguity, and work successfully and effectively on cross-functional teams Ability to manage multiple tasks at once and possess a work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations Education/Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in business, finance, engineering or a related field Five years of progressive experience in financial roles with experience in budgeting and forecasting, and other planning and analysis Experience in a large public or private company or large public accounting firm Experience with proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
